Hikins Group, one of the most famous manufacturers of RO systems in China, has its solely owned industrial membrane
manufacturing factory with 36000 square meters located in Dongguan city, where all scope of the membrane are manufactured, including Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane, Nanofiltration (NF) membrane, Ultrafiltration (UF) membrane, pressure tank and diaphragm pumps, full range of BW series brackish water desalination, LP series Low-pressure RO membrane, FR series fouling resistant brackish water RO membrane, and SW series seawater desalination RO membrane, etc.
As one of the trademark brands of Hikins group, Hallowway brand membranes have been widely adopted in China Market, such as
China municipal water supply project, electricity generating company, chemical, and electrical companies, pharmaceutical
companies, food and drinks industries as well as drinking water industries, etc.. At the same time, Hallowway products also have
been widely sold to North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, and serving millions of users all over the world.
Hikins upholds the principle of business integrity and professionalism and keeps its product with innovative technology to provide
good quality products and good service to our customers all over the world.
Q1: What type of RO membrane is available in your company?
A1: In general, We have a Domestic RO membrane and an Industrial RO membrane. For the Domestic RO membrane, We have a Municipal Tap water RO membrane, Rural Area Under Groundwater RO membrane, a High-flow Low-pressure RO membrane, and a Brackishwater RO membrane.
For the Industrial RO membrane, We have a Low-Pressure Energy-saving RO membrane, BW Brackish water desalination RO membrane, FR Fouling Resistant RO membrane, as well as XLE Extreme Low-Pressure RO membrane, and High Salinity Brackish Water Desalination RO membrane.
Q2: What is the Salt Rejection Ratio?
A2: The Salt rejection describes the quality of salt removed from the Reverse Osmosis feed water stream as a percentage. It's one of the key elements of the RO membrane quality, however, other essential elements such as RO membrane performance durability, stability, application scope in different regions, and permeate flow output at the same pressure will all be the important factors to judge the quality of the membrane.
Q3: Is the Salt creation of the RO membrane the higher the better?
A3: This will be depending on the feed water quality, if the feed water quality is good, even a 90% salt rejection membrane will be workable, if the feed water is of bad quality and with a brackish water environment, a higher salt rejection above 95% is an ideal choice. Any membrane that meets the local drinking water standard will be a good membrane.
Q4: Is there are any other elements we need to take into consideration when selecting the RO membrane?
A4: Yes, the pre-treatment filter cartridge and pre-treatment system will affect the RO membrane performance as well, please select good quality filters and pre-treatment system.
Q5: Why there are white foam-like water being in the treated water at the initial usage?
A5: To preserve the RO membrane for a long shelf-life, and prevent the membrane from being oxidized, a water-soluble protection material is coated on the surface of the membrane, which will be rejected in both the rejected water and treated water, for initial use, both rejected water and treated water should be rejected and the RO membrane should be thoroughly cleansed. The treated water at initial use shall not be injected into the water storage tank.
Q6: Why there are bubbles in the treated water?
A6: Oxygen Nitrogen and carbon dioxide are water-soluble in the molecular form, during the water filtration process in the Reverse Osmosis process, those air will be released due to the pressure change between input water and output water. That air is not harmful, just like Coca-cola.
Q7: Why dry RO membrane has a salt rejection rising process from its initial usage?
A7: The performance of the RO membrane is strictly connected to the wetness of the membrane, when the membrane is wet, it will reach to its maximum performance, dry membrane has a process to become wet from its initial usage. Make sure that the membrane should be rinsed after each usage.
Q8: Why Active carbon filter is requested for the RO membrane?
A8: Chloride and chlorine content are harmful from the feed water, RO membrane is easy to be damaged as the surface of the RO membrane will be easily oxidized
